NO TRASH OR RECYCLING tomorrow. Will not be postponed a day as usual. It is cancelled till next week. Be prepared for further trash/recycle cancellations as PW crews focus on more snow removal.
Another 5-16 inches of snow over the next couple of days. PLEASE park your car in your driveway if you have one. Please know that if you turn your street into a sled zone, that it MAY require the frontloader to plow it, and that will take longer.
If you are without power, please call PEPCO and report it. 1-877-PEPCO62. They will respond to our neighborhood based on the number of outages we have. If you are without power and need shelter, please call me. 301-270-6888 home 240-422-1830 cell. Please be careful about using alternative heating methods if you are without power.
If you know someone who is without power and elderly, disabled or otherwise may need help, please call the police non-emergency number at 301-270-6888 or call me. We will encourage them to stay with a neighbor or seek other shelter resources.
I know some neighbors have brought warm food and groceries to neighbors who are snowed in, or otherwise unable to travel out. I have received several calls offering shelter to neighbors who need it. A really BIG thank you to all of you who are looking out for your neighbors. If I can help please let me know.
A big thanks to everyone for being patient through this snow storm. I know some streets and alleys are still not plowed. The plows will be out again tomorrow. We have two sets of contractors out helping so we can try to get every street cleared to at least one lane before the next storm. You can help by not putting your snow in the street, and clearing the roofs of your cars before driving around town. You can help by parking in your driveway if you have one. And of course, if you don't have to drive - don't.
